The Cable Advisory Council SCC (CACSCC) represents the interests of approximately 63,000 cable subscribers in the towns of Branford, North Branford, East Haven, North Haven, Wallingford, Guilford and Madison.

Mission

  • Make informed recommendations on cable programming and franchising matters
  • Secure reasonable Community Access (P.E.G.: Public, Education, government Access) resources
  • Participate as a partner with the company in Community Access oversight
  • Monitor customer services (including call response time, billing procedures, installation practices and system-wide upgrade deliverables)
  • Provide forums for soliciting public input on cable matters

This Mission Statement was adopted in the July 2004 Planning Meeting. It was derived based on a review of key documents including Articles of Incorporation, Bylaws, DPUC Regulations, and Docket 99-10-05 PFR, Decision and proceedings. Selected references are summarized here



FRANCHISE RENEWAL GOAL: To assist in the transition of each of the seven town Community Access Non-Profit Groups/Stations to fully compliant operations with a sustainable infrastructure for intertown collaboration and growth by October 2004.

Advisory Council
of South Central Connecticut
(CACSCC) is expected by the Department of Public Utility Control to improve cable subscriber awareness
of its existence and subsequently its effectiveness as advisors to the company, Comcast Corporation.
