CAC decicion to join CT Association of Cable Television Advisory Councils

Proposal for Renewal filed 1.10.1990
- included low income senior discount. Free Parental control devices. Hearing Impaired technology. Customer surveys. PEG Funding through the council. Addition of town channel for PEG. Education interconnect for distance learning. Proposal of Access Television Coalition

better discount for Seniors than in proposal. Up to 50% if certain conditions apply.

April 1990

Insurance presentation. Research if PEG covered under town liability suggested

May 1990

Guilford incorporation underway.
CAC incorporated but not with non-profit status

Feb. 1991

Adopted procedure acknowledging role of Advisory Council as avenue for appeal in disputes related to PEG at the local level.
Use of PEG equipment & selling of tapes for profit identified as policy issue.

May 1991

Local PEG advocate reports that he has been ‘impeached’ by local board.
Membership to NFLCP (now Alliance for Community Media) approved.
C-SPAN discussion

June 1991

Franchise Renewal Final decision: Sept 25 1991-Sept 30 2002
Duration is for 11 years with rebuild to be completed by 1/1995.
