Overall Excellence
Community Sustainers of Community
Access have either participated in several types of
service or have continued service for several years,
even decades.
- Contributions are most often
in more than one of the awards categories
[Content, Promotion, Delivery, Audience] over several
years.
These Award Recipient's contributions
are seen as significant to a vibrant growth of Community
Access as "community building" at either the
franchise or town level. These individuals or organizations
are without dispute 'sustainers' of Communty Access
due to their citizen action.
Content
An Award Recipient
has either produced Content or performed services critical
to developing content; especially as a trainer or facilitator.
Content Producers demonstrate effective use of available
tools. Recognition of talents by organizations outside
of local community access such as ACM are valued in
review of eligible award candidates. Trainers and facilitators
must be acknowledged by several Community Access Producers
in program credits or references that can be validated.
Promotion

by Federal Law, Overseen by State Regulatory Authority,
Facilitated by Municipalities and Available with citizen
action.

in more than one area of P.E.G. (Advisor, PEG Board,
Producer, Content Talent) and will have worked on creating
a greater awareness of Community Access as a “Community
Resource for Community Engagement”.
Delivery
- Delivery of P.E.G. content is
dependent on sustainable plans and management of P.E.G.
resources at the local level. Accessible tools and
space to record, edit & play are the result of
effective citizen action for the delivery of Community
Access.
Award Recipients have helped with budgeting,
funding, equipment selection, and building and inventory
maintenance of a P.E.G. station. Achieving accessibility
for a building, selecting accessible tools and maintainence
of same can not be underated but is often aken for granted
in this high tech arean serving a diverse community.
Audience
- Community Access Television is
viewed when there is a personal connection with content.
P.E.G. can only "make a difference" when
there is an audience connection.
Award Recipients have cultivated
the connection between audience and content. Producers
with regular fan mail or audience dialogue or a community
member that has got the word out about a program to
help it "make a difference" or a regular sponsor/underwriter
of P.E.G. programs that donates merchandise or resources
that helps attract viewers or a consumer/citizen that
successfully advocates a process change to help grow
viewers.
